Series statement

In these series, my aim has been to create paintings that bring a sense of richness and joy to the experience of reality. The works are informed by a thought by the poet Jack Gilbert: “We must have the stubbornness to accept our gladness in the ruthless furnace of this world.”  Some works from the series were presented in an exhibition at Art House Turku in 2022.
